LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Sunday said that he would fight for the country till the last drop of blood and will not disappoint the people of Pakistan if given a chance.
Speaking to PTI’s grand rally at Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore, Imran said that “nations who forget their ideologies are destroyed.” He added: “We are at crossroads as on one end there is humiliation, while on the other is the true ideology of Pakistan which we need to adopt.”
Citing incidents of PM Abbasi’s reported security check at the US airport and former PM Nawaz Sharif “reading from a chit” during meeting with the US president, Imran said that “it is a cause of great shame for all of us. If a PM is treated this way or he can not confidently converse with another leader, what would happen of us?”
He added that during the 90s, Pakistan was fast becoming one of the most developed countries in the world, but now the country is “direly indebted”.
Referring to the attendees, the PTI chief said: “I question you, why was this country made? Why was there a need of a separate nation? This country came into being because Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah realised that the Muslims would not gain their true rights under Hindu majority Congress’ leadership.”
“Jinnah’s Pakistan was ought to provide each individuals their rights. It was ought to be a country where all religions had the liberty to live by their rules. Moreover, this country was to be replica of the state of Madina governed by the Prophet (PBUH) where justice and rule of law would prevail,” he added.
Imran also thanked those in attendance for “their passion and determination for a new Pakistan” saying that “whenever I have requested you to support me, I have not been disappointed.”
