ISLAMABAD: Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has written a letter to the Arab League’s secretary general, highlighting horrific Indian brutalities in the Indian-held Kashmir (IHK).
The adviser underscored that India has unleashed a reign of terror against the innocent and defenceless civilians since the extrajudicial killing of a young Kashmiri leader Burhan Wani on July 8, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a press release issued on Thursday.
Sartaj Aziz emphasised that the current situation in Kashmir was due to the continued denial of India for the right to self-determination of the Kashmiris – which the United Nations Security Council promised in the relevant resolutions.
He stressed that the current uprising was not an isolated incident but a manifestation of constant oppressions by the Indian occupation forces and added that the struggle was totally indigenous and cannot be equated with terrorism.
The Arab League countries were urged to call upon India to immediately stop the bloodshed and massacre in IHK and implement the pending UN Security Council resolutions on Kashmir.
