Inspector General Police Punjab Dr Usman Anwar has said that this year more than 15000 police officers and officials have been given departmental promotions according to merit and rules, promotion and service structure of many forces including CTD, Special Branch, PHP has been upgraded, 5000 more promotions will be given on the merit after approval of Pasban project.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar directed that the police force should use its powers to protect the lives and properties of the citizens and serve the people. He directed to transfer the benefits of departmental promotions to citizens through better service delivery, good behavior and positive attitude. Dr. Usman Anwar said that intelligence-based operations should be accelerated to root out organized crime and the crime process of crime eradication should be accelerated.
He expressed these views while addressing officers promoted from Head Constable to ASI at the Central Police Office today.
A ceremony was held at the Central Police Office in honor of Lahore Police officials who were promoted from Head Constable to ASI, in which IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar pinned new ranks to 63 policemen who were promoted as ASI. The children, families and relatives of the promoted ASIs specially attended the ceremony. Among those promoted, the officials of various wings including Operations, Investigation, Organized Crime Unit, Elite Force, Security Division of Lahore Police were included. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar congratulated the promoted ASIs and their relatives, Expressed compassion to the children. IG Punjab directed the officials promoted to the post of ASI to perform their duties more diligently. Senior police officers including DIG Investigation Lahore Imran Kishwar, SSP Admin Lahore Atif Nazir, AIG Discipline Ahsan Saifullah were present on the spot.
Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar is ensuring regular measures for the health welfare of police force, in continuation of which, Dr. Usman Anwar has released more than 12 lakh funds for the health welfare of 06 officers and officials.
According to the details, 05 lakh rupees were given to the injured Ghazi Constable Muhammad Shahbaz of Sialkot police for treatment. Shahid Mehmood, Ghazi Inspector of Jhang, was given 03 lakh 50 thousand rupees, Injured Constable Tahir Afzaal of Lahore and Muhammad Tanveer of Faisalabad were given Rs.01 lakh each for treatment, Ghazi Constable Miran Khan of Rajanpur and injured Constable Muhammad Saleem were given Rs.01 lakh each for medical treatment. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar released the funds after the approval of the Compensation Award Committee.
Additional IG Finance and Welfare Muhammad Riaz Nazir Gara chaired the Compensation Award Committee meeting, DIG Welfare Ghazi Muhammad Salahuddin, DIG Establishment-I Dr. Inam Waheed Khan and DIG Headquarters Humayun Bashir Tarar attended the meeting as members. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar ordered to continue the measures for the welfare of the police force.
IGP directed that the available funds should be effectively used to speed up the measures for the police force and the treatment of the injured officials. Dr. Usman Anwar said that the police force is like a family, taking care of the welfare of every member is one of the priorities of the department.
