ISLAMABAD: The Accountability Court (AC) on Wednesday resumed the hearing of the Al Azizia and Flagship corruption references against the former premier Nawaz Sharif.
As the session went underway, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor Afzal Qureshi and Nawaz’s counsel ,Khawaja Haris, appeared before the court.
NAB prosecutor notified that Sharif family’s appeal was scheduled to be heard in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) at that day.
Judge Bashir then adjourned the session till the IHC’s judgment on the appeal.
Later today, IHC heard Nawaz’s appeal and issued notices to the NAB. IHC then adjourned the session till last week of July.
On September 14, 2017, NAB filed the Avenfield, Al Azizia and Flagship references against Nawaz and family.
Previously on July 6, in the light of Avenfield verdict, the court sentenced Nawaz, Maryam, and Safdar 10, 7, and 1 year imprisonment.
