ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has extended the deadline to file the income tax return till December 15, 2018.
The date for filing returns of the total income and statement of final taxation which were due on November 30 is hereby further extended for 15 days till December 15, source with FBR told.
Sources further told that names of the defaulters will appear in the active taxpayer list. “Filers will not be banned from purchasing immovable property no matter what it worth,” sources added.
Earlier, FBR extended the deadline for filing the returns for 206-17 to September 30,2018 when Pakistan Tax Bar Association (PTBA) in its letter had sought an extension in the deadline to file tax returns for 2018.
All those whose annual salary from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018 is above Rs400,000 are required to file their income tax returns along with wealth statement for the financial year 2017-18.
